Liptov can offer you something all year, but it is a paradise for lovers of wintersports. Skiing, snowboarding, snow scooter but also other winter sports might be enjoyed in some of the skiing centers in the surrounding.
Jasná Low Tatras
The largest ski arena for winter sports in Slovakia- Jasná- Low Tatras is situated only 15km from the center of Liptovský Mikuláš. It offers 45km of ski slopes for various levels for beginners, professionals, families with kids and for organizing the ski race of the top of the world level. Freeride zones and snow partk, 30 cable cars or ski lifts. You will get to the Chopok hill by 30 modern cars, ski lifts.
Opalisko Ski center
Opalisko is situated over the village Závažná Poruba, at the foot of a mountain Poludnica. It is situated 5km from the Liptovský Mikuláš center. Five ski slopes with technical snow, four skilifts and a chairlift offer sufficient comfort without long queuing. Areal for kids, sledging slope, natural ice rink are available. There is also the running area with lights with the 30km length of running routes in the center.
Fun Park Žiarce
Fun Park Ziarce is situated in the municipality Pavčina Lehota, at the entry to Demänov valley. Ski school and kindergarten for the smallest ones, ski equipment rent, night skiing, snowpark and free carpark by lift are available. Ski center which is situated only 5km from Liptovský Mikuláš, it offers good skiing experience for favourable prices of family ski tickets.
